The summit's long history began in 1913 with a crow's nest, followed by the addition of a log cabin and 20' platform tower in 1915. A log cabin with a roof platform was built in 1924, with a 30' log tower and 6x6' cab completed in 1926. Then a 41' treated timber tower with a 1933-style L-4 cab was built in 1948, quickly followed by a 67' treated timber tower with R-6 cab in 1963. It was gone by 1979.
