First used in 1930 with a 100' tree platform and a log cabin, this 40' pole L-4 tower was built in 1938. It was destroyed in 1958. This lookout was the setting for Pete Pomeroy's book "The Mallory Burn" which was later made into a Wonderful World of Disney television special titled "Fire on Kelly Mountain". |
