PACKSADDLE MOUNTAIN LOOKOUT
R.I.P. 1925-1974; 1934-1974
Established as a camp in 1915, a cupola cabin was built in 1925. Then a 76' steel Aermotor tower originally intended for Saddle Mtn. was mistakenly shipped here in 1934 after a purchasing mixup. An attempt to move the top half of the tower in 1974 failed when an Army helicopter dropped it a mile away. The remaining 20' ended up becoming part of the new tower on Lookout Mtn. near Priest Lake in 1977.
