This L-4 ground cab, built in 1934, was last used in the 1970's. The Sand Mountain Society completely restored the structure, literally tearing the cab down to ground level and starting over due to rot and insect damage. The lookout is listed on the National Historic Lookout Register and is available on the Recreation Rental program.
