SCOTT MOUNTAIN LOOKOUT
R.I.P. 1947-2020
Established with a log cabin in 1911, a 50' pole tower with observation cab was built in 1928. A 35' timber tower with live-in cab, built in 1947, originally had an L-4 cab, but was later modified to a flat roof. Staffed every summer into the late 2000's, an automated detection camera took over the fire spotting duties. The lookout and detection camera burned in a September 2020 forest fire. The tower was listed on the National Historic Lookout Register.
