DIRTYFACE RIDGE LOOKOUT
R.I.P. 1920-1957; 1957-1975
Established with a camp in 1914, a D-6 cupola cabin and a platform were installed in 1920. An L-4 cab followed in 1933 (although photo evidence suggests this was not built), replaced by an R-6 flat cab in 1957, which was scheduled to be moved by helicopter to nearby Alpine Lookout in 1975. Unable to lift it off the summit, the cab was burned to the ground.
